Important Instructions on Using mySakai
ANI provides mySakai to demonstrate the capabilities and functionality of the ANI Sakai CLE. The ANI Sakai CLE is based on and very closely aligned with Sakai, the premier open source collaborative learning environment for education. ANI Sakai CLE includes customizations that are not available in the generic Sakai distribution. You agree to use mySakai in accordance with the terms set forth in the Terms and Conditions of Use.
- We automatically create a private workspace (My Workspace) for you. In this space, you may create a blog, develop and store other materials, maintain an appointment calendar, access other internal and external web sites, and set your system preferences.
- You may create your own course site(s) to support teaching and learning, project site(s) for engaging in collaborative work, and/or portfolio site(s) for experimenting with ePortfolios. In each site you may choose which tools to make available and invite others to join. </>You may create up to three sites of each type.
- If you are an ANI client, you can also become a member of the ANI Community site in mySakai. Here you may ask questions of other ANI Sakai CLE users; participate in community discussions and surveys; participate in working groups formed around popular discussion topics; and jointly create additional materials to share. If you are interested in joining the ANI Community site, please contact the assigned administrator at your institution. Please note that because the ANI Sakai CLE is closely aligned with Sakai, much of the information available in the ANI Community site applies to both products. However, because the two products are not identical, information provided about the ANI Sakai CLE will not necessarily apply to the generic Sakai distribution.
- You may also visit our support portal, the rSmart Support Network (soon to be renamed the ANI Support Network (ASN)), and access the forums and our collection of knowledge base articles and documentation.
ANI provides daily backup for all mySakai data and keeps backups for seven (7) days. In the event of a system failure, we will restore lost data from the last available backup. We will not selectively restore data, including data lost due to user error.
We intend for mySakai to be available for your use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, except when we are performing upgrades or otherwise maintaining the system. Upgrades occur according to a regular schedule.
Your site(s) will persist indefinitely as long as they are used on a regular basis. As a part of ANI’s regular maintenance, we may delete inactive sites.
ANI may change these Instructions by updating this posting. You should periodically visit this page to review the current terms in place.
